The Scooter Fund was established in 1994 in honor of the real-life Scooter, a beagle mix who was found on the side of the road in need of serious medical attention. After receiving the care and recovery he needed over several months (including hernia surgery and a customized artificial paw), Scooter found his new home through HSCC!

Today, the Scooter Fund helps to pay for veterinary costs for animals with special medical needs who are waiting for adoption. In the past year alone, the Scooter Fund has been used to cover surgeries such as ACL repair, cancerous mass removal, dental extractions, and even nasal reconstruction. As anyone who has faced veterinary bills can attest to, costs add up quickly and we completely rely on donations to keep the Scooter Fund thriving.
