Sex: Neutered male
Breed: American Shelter Dog
Age: ~ 4 years old
Reason Here: He was brought to HSCC due to behavioral concerns in his previous home.
Arrival Date: 4/15/2020
Size/Weight: 103 lbs.
He’s an extra-large, goofy and loveable guy who can often be found bouncing around the play yard or getting butt scratches from his caretakers. Zeus takes time to warm up to new people, may greet strangers with a deep bark, and tends to prefer the company of women to men, but once he knows you’re a friend, he’ll want to spend lots of time right by your side. He loves squeaky toys and treats, and has been a quick learner as our staff have worked with him on some new skills. He’s even very gentle when taking treats, although there is a lot of drool involved. With even more consistent, positive training, there’s no limit to what he could learn!
Zeus was brought to HSCC because he was not doing well with the young children or other dog in his previous home. While here with us, he has made friends with some dogs but prefers to keep his distance from others. He’s got plenty of love to give as an only pet! Due to his size and background, Zeus would likely be most successful in a home without young children. He’s a big, playful dog so he’d love some space to romp, but is also likely to sit right at (or on) your feet or even your lap.
Dogs: He may be most successful as the only dog in his new home.
Cats: He has no history of living with cats.
Kids: He would likely be most successful in a home without young children.
