Denise Simard was a cherished mother who loved animals and loved volunteering in her community. She instilled in her her youngest daughter, Eve (who is now a dedicated HSCC volunteer), the joy and fulfillment that can be found in connection and serving community. Denise never said no when Eve would come home with a homeless cat or an injured animal and encouraged her compassion for vulnerable animals from a very young age. This relationship between compassion and donation of time continues to be inspirational to the Frazee Simard family and serves as an intentional way to honor Denise’s memory.
