If you are interested in adopting, please follow the steps below to schedule an appointment. Please note that our facility is still closed to the general public until further notice. stay tuned to www.hsccvt.org & our social media for the latest updates during these ever-changing times - thank you!
**Please note that due to a high volume of interested adopters, there may not be appointments available for the current week. New appointments are posted every Saturday, so please check back then. If you are unable to make your appointment or have changed your mind about adopting, we ask that you cancel your appointment AT LEAST 12 HOURS before your scheduled time**
1. Take a look at our available dogs listed below. ALL AVAILABLE DOGS ARE LISTED HERE. If you see someone who may be a good fit, continue to step 2. Otherwise, keep checking back to see new animals as they are made available throughout the week. Save time by completing your Dog Adopter Profile now!
2. If you see a dog that you are interested in, click on the link below to set up an appointment with one of our Adoption Counselors, who will go over all of the animal's medical & behavioral history. Appointments are done in person at the shelter. Please note that you may only sign up for one appointment per week and any other appointments made will be cancelled. All visitors are required to socially distance to 6’ to the extent possible, wear a self-supplied mask, and thoroughly sanitize hands before and after your visit. If you decide to move forward with adopting, you will be expected to take your pet home at the end of the appointment unless a staff consult needs to be scheduled. Please review our adoption fees before committing to take an animal home.
