Please join us in celebrating the recipient of HSCC’s 2026 June Davis Award: Eve Frazee!

Named for HSCC’s modern day founder, the June Davis Award is the highest honor that the Humane Society of Chittenden County bestows. Every year since 1999, HSCC’s staff and Board of Directors honor one very special volunteer who exemplifies June’s dedication to animal welfare and community service – someone who regularly goes above and beyond to support the animals and mission of HSCC.

This year, at our annual volunteer recognition event, we were thrilled to recognize Eve – a stalwart dog volunteer and foster parent. Since she started volunteering with HSCC in 2023, Eve has donated well over 1,000 hours of her time and energy to helping our animals.

Every week, Eve shows up for our dogs: she cleans kennels, takes dogs on walks and off-site adventures, works with them one-on-one to help them overcome challenges and fears, shares videos of adoptable dogs to help them find a home, and fosters some of our most vulnerable dogs who struggle in the shelter environment.

In addition to her hands-on contributions, Eve has also supported HSCC by creating the Denise Simard Foster Fund in 2025, which was established in honor of her late mother to support and strengthen HSCC’s vital foster program.

Throughout her time with us, Eve has touched the lives of countless animals. Her devotion to the dogs in our care and the support she shows our staff and our organization is truly remarkable, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all of her contributions.
